Fifteen-time Olympic champions the USA will take on France for the Tokyo Olympics gold medal in the men’s basketball final at the Saitama Super Arena on Saturday.
The USA have won the last three Olympics titles in men’s basketball. France are the only team they lost to in their first match of Group A at Tokyo 2020.
Since then, the USA’s stars Kevin Durant, Jrue Holiday, Devin Booker and Jayson Tatum led them to victories over the Czech Republic and Iran in the group stages.
The USA basketball team then comfortably overcame Spain in the quarter-finals and Australia in the semi-finals.
France, on the other hand, are searching for their first Olympic gold. They have won two Olympic silver medals so far.
The France basketball team is unbeaten at the Tokyo Olympics - finishing top of Group A with three victories - and then overcame Italy in the quarter-finals.
They narrowly beat a Luka Doncic-led Slovenia 90-89 in the semi-finals to set up the gold medal clash.
The key players for France will be Rudy Gobert, Nicolas Batum, Vincent Poirier and Evan Fournier.
