American gymnast Gabby Douglas is one of a handfull U.S. gymnasts to ever compete at back-to-back Olympic Games and, along with Aly Raisman, one of two to win two team gold medals at consecutive Games.

Douglas is also the first African American to clinch the Olympic all-around title, and she is the first ever gymnast from Team USA to take gold in both the individual all-around competition and the team event at the same Games.

  • Douglas has won three Olympic gold medals: All-around gold at the London 2012 Olympics and team gold at both London and the Rio 2016 Games.
  • She also clinched team gold at the world championships in 2011 and 2015 and picked up an all-around silver at worlds in 2015.

  • Douglas is a three-time Olympic champion bagging the all-around title at London 2012 plus the team titles at both the London and Rio Games. 
  • She was also part of the U.S. team which won the team titles at the 2011 and 2015 world championships. 
  • At the 2012 U.S> National Championships, Douglas picked up the title in uneven bars. 
  • ouglas was named the Associate Press’ Female Athlete of the Year in 2012, the fourth gymnast to be named as such. Her career was also garnered two BET Awards in 2013: Sportswoman of the Year and Young Star of the Year.
