Spain are the 2022 EuroBasket champions.
The Spanish secured most prestigious prize in European men's basketball for a fourth time, with a 88-76 win over France in the final on Sunday (18 September).
New Orleans Pelicans star Willy Hernangomez was voted MVP, while his brother Juancho Hernangomez scored 27 points including seven three-pointers as Spain added the FIBA continental crown to their world title.
Evan Fournier was the top scorer for France with 23 points, but neither he or Rudy Gobert were able to inspire the French to victory, as Spain rounded out a well deserved win.
FIBA EuroBasket 2022: final result
EuroBasket 2022 began with a group phase from 1-9 September, with four pools of six teams each. The top four teams in each pool qualified for the round of 16, which took place on 10-11 September.
The eight winning teams then competed in quarter-finals which took place from 13-14 September in Berlin, before the semi-finals on Friday 16 September.
The final and playoff for third place will be on Sunday 18 September.

Friday 16 September
- Semi-final - Poland v France - 17:15 - France won 95-54.
- Semi-final - Germany v Spain - 20:30 - Spain won 96-91.
Sunday 18 September
- 3rd place playoff - Germany v Poland - 17:15 CEST. Germany won 82-69 to finish thord.
- Final - Spain v France - 20:30 CEST. Spain won 88-76. Spain are champions.
