The fourth Winter Youth Olympic Games, Gangwon 2024, are about to take off – and so are the ski jumpers.
From 20 to 21 January, the individual and mixed team ski jumping competitions will take place at the Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre.
80 athletes will battle for medals and glory - 40 men and 40 women.

Who are the ski jumpers to watch at Gangwon 2024?
A very talented field of young ski jumpers are taking part at the Winter Youth Olympic Games, Gangwon 2024.
One of them is Czechia's Anežka Indráčková, who is just 17 years old but already an Olympian. She competed at Beijing 2022 as the youngest athlete among all participants and finished 30th in the women's normal hill event.
Slovenia is lining up with Ajda Košnjek and Taja Bodlaj, who have both won medals at the Ski Jumping Junior World Championships. Anna-Fay Scharfenberg of Germany is also medallist at the Junior World Championships, as she claimed a bronze medal in the team event in 2022.
Norway's Ingvild Synnøve Midtskogen is another name to look out for. In the 2023–24 FIS Ski Jumping Inter-Continental Cup, she took two victories on home turf in Notodden.
In the men's competitions, Poland has a strong duo in Kacper Tomasiak and Łukasz Łukaszczyk. Both have top ten results in the FIS Cup this season with Tomasiak finishing fourth in Kandersteg, Switzerland and Łukaszczyk taking fourth.
Lastly, Hektor Kapustík of Slovakia will compete in both nordic combined and the ski jumping events. He proved his talent in ski jumping by winning the New Star event in Rasnov, Romania last year.
Ski jumping format at Gangwon 2024 Youth Olympics
Three events will be contested in ski jumping at Gangwon 2024: Men’s Individual, women's individual, and the mixed team event. All competitions will be on the normal hill size (85-109m).
Every athlete has two jumps, and the score depends on the length of the jump and the attitude meaning aerial and landing.
The winner is decided by the highest combined score from the two jumps.
In the mixed team competition, every nation includes two men and two women, who each get two jumps. The result is then determined by the highest combined score from all eight attempts.
Ski jumping venue location and dates at Gangwon 2024
Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre will host all three ski jumping events at Gangwon 2024.
It is the same venue that was used for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, that saw Kamil Stoch, Andreas Wellinger, and Maren Lundby take the individual titles.
The men's and women's individual competions take place on 20 January and the mixed team event on 21 January.
