The Indian Men’s Doubles team of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have reached the final of a BWF Super 500 series for the first time.
The shuttlers defeated South Korean’s Ko Sung Hyun and Shin Baek Cheol to storm through to the final of the BWF Thailand Open 2019.
After an impressive display in their Round of 16 encounter against World No.7 Indonesian pair of Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, the Indians made further headlines when they beat another South Korean pair - Choi Solgyu and Seo Seung Jae - in the quarterfinal by a great show of skill and coordination.
In the final four match, Rankireddy and Shetty faced two challenging games with both going to a deuce point. The Indian duo won the first game 22-20 but ended up losing the second 22-24, setting up a tantalizing decider.

The duo will now face second-ranked Chinese team of Li Jun Hui and Liu Yu Chen in the final scheduled to be played on Sunday.
