Two-time Olympic medallist and Indian badminton superstar PV Sindhu will get married in Udaipur on December 22.
PV Sindhu, who recently won the Syed Modi International crown to end a two-year-long title drought, will tie the knot with Hyderabad-based Venkata Datta Sai, who is an executive director at Posidex Technologies.
Pre-wedding events will commence from December 20 while a formal reception will be held in Hyderabad on December 24.
“The two families knew each other but it was only a month ago that everything was finalised. This was the only possible window as her schedule will be hectic from January,” PV Ramana, Sindhu’s father, told PTI.
“So that is the reason the two families decided to have the marriage ceremony on December 22. She will start her training soon after as the next season is going to be important,” he added.
Sindhu is the only badminton world champion to have ever come up from India and won back-to-back medals at the Olympics - a silver at Rio 2016 and bronze at Tokyo 2020.
The Indian badminton player also recently broke ground for her very own sports academy named PV Sindhu Center for Badminton and Sports Excellence in Visakhapatnam.
