The Pro Kabaddi League 2024 gets underway on Friday with the Bengaluru Bulls locking horns with the Telugu Titans at the GMC Balayogi Sports Complex in Hyderabad.

The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), in its 11th season this year, will be returning to a three-city format with Noida and Pune also in the mix alongside Hyderabad. All PKL 2024 matches will be available to watch on live streaming and live telecast in India.

While Hyderabad will host the first leg of kabaddi matches from October 18 to November 9, the Noida Indoor Stadium will be the venue for the second leg scheduled from November 10 to December 2.

The Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune will take centrestage for the final leg between December 3 and 24. The dates and venues for the PKL Season 11 playoffs will be announced later.

In PKL season 10, 12 cities hosted the league stages in 12 different legs before the playoffs were held in Hyderabad. Puneri Paltan defeated Haryana Steelers 28-25 in the final to win their first PKL title. The defending champions will start their season on October 19.

All 12 PKL teams - Puneri Paltan, Telugu Titans, Bengaluru Bulls, Bengal Warriorz, U Mumba, Haryana Steelers, Tamil Thalaivas, Dabang Delhi, Gujarat Giants, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Patna Pirates and UP Yoddhas - will play each other twice in the league stage.

The top two following the conclusion of the league phase will directly advance to the semi-finals for a direct shot at making the final. The four teams ranked third to sixth in the league table will battle it out in the eliminators for the remaining two spots in the semis.

Patna Pirates, who managed a three-peat of titles between seasons three to five, are the most successful side in PKL history followed by the Jaipur Pink Panthers, who reclaimed the title in Season 9 after winning the inaugural edition back in 2014.

Reigning champions Puneri Paltan, U Mumba, Dabang Delhi, Bengal Warriorz and Bengaluru Bulls have won the PKL trophy once each.

Pardeep Narwal, the most successful raider in PKL history, has returned to the Bengaluru Bulls after a disappointing season with the Yoddhas and will hope to rekindle his fortunes with veteran raider Rohit Kumar as partner.

Indian kabaddi captain Pawan Sehrawat, meanwhile, was also retained by the Titans.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Fazel Atrachali, PKL’s most successful defender, will be seen in Bengal Warriorz colours this season while his compatriot Mohammadreza Shadloui, who was instrumental in Puneri Paltan’s title win last year, has joined Haryana Steelers.

Republic of Korea’s Jang Kun Lee will return to PKL after four years and has rejoined his old team Patna Pirates for the upcoming season.
