From 20 October - 5 November the United States will take center stage at the 2023 Pan American Games to face off against 40 other nations in the third-largest multi-sport Games in the world.

631 athletes will represent Team USA in Santiago in attempts to continue their golden streak and obtain Olympic quotas that are up for grabs in nine of the 39 sports.

In the 18 previous editions of the Games, the U.S. have only ever fallen short of the gold twice — once at the very first games in 1951 and then again in 1991 before coming back to claim the most medals of any country in Games history in ‘95.

This year, they’re sending a star-studded roster. Here is some history and how to watch all of the action live.

This was also the most gold medals they have received at a single continental games, topping their previous record in Indianapolis by just one.
