The Centre de Entrenamiento Olímpico will play host to 130 boxers, split between six weight divisions for women, and seven for men.

Cuba is the second most successful boxing nation in Olympic history, and will be a gold medal threat in every men’s weight category.

Her compatriot Wanderson de Oliveira, a world bronze medallist in 2023 seems to have developed consistency to go alongside his exciting defensive style, and it could be his time in the men’s light heavyweight division.

Experienced Colombian Ingrit Valencia, a two-time world medallist and Olympic bronze medal winner, will look to defend her women’s flyweight title.

Finally, Canadian middleweight and 2022 world champion, Tammara Thibeault, will look to reassert her dominance in the category.

Paris 2024 Olympic qualification spots

A total of 30 athletes (16 women and 14 men) will secure their National Olympic Committee’s Olympic quota at the Pan American Games 2023.

In four of the six women’s weight divisions and in all seven men’s divisions, the top two athletes will obtain spots for Paris 2024.

The exceptions occur in the women’s 57kg and 60kg events, where the top four athletes will secure quotas.

As National Olympic Committees have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes' participation at the Paris Games depends on their NOC selecting them to represent their delegation at Paris 2024.
