The men's 2023 NCAA Division I collegiate basketball tournament will come to a close on Monday (3 April) after San Diego State and the University of Connecticut earned all-important wins in the semi-finals of the competition to progress to the title game.
Here's a look ahead to the North American college championship matchup, including the key schedule information and how to watch the game.
Which teams are in the March Madness 2023 final?
University of Conneticut Huskies (No.4 seed)
The Huskies have used a high-powered offense to propel themselves to their first championship game since 2014, when they earned their fourth men's Division I title in school history. UConn were considered favourites coming into their Final Four clash with the University of Miami, but took no chances as they secured a comfortable 72-59 win, with Adam Sanogo posting a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds on 9-for-11 shooting from the floor. If San Diego wants to have any chance of stopping UConn on Monday evening, they'll have to figure out a way to slow Sanogo down.
San Diego State University (No. 5 seed)
Saturday (1 April) saw a meeting between the two cinderella stories of 2023 March Madness as San Diego State and Florida Atlantic University - two teams who were making their first Final Four apperances in school history - faced off to determine UConn's opponent in the championship game.
The Aztecs ultimately prevailed in a game for the ages, overcoming a 14-point second half deficit (the fifth-largest comeback in Final Four history) to win 72-71 thanks to a game-winning jumper from Lamont Butler with 0.6 seconds remaining.
