Australian tennis player Matthew Ebden, along with Indian partner Rohan Bopanna, stormed into the men’s doubles final of the Miami Open 2024 tennis tournament with a convincing win at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida on Thursday.

Ebden-Bopanna, seeded first at the ATP Masters 1000 event, made light work of the Spanish-Argentine pair of Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos, the fourth seeds, in the semi-finals and won the match 6-1, 6-4.

It was total domination from Ebden and Bopanna, who converted three of their seven break point opportunities during the encounter, which lasted under an hour.

The duo, who won the 2024 Australian Open title together earlier this year, dropped only five points during their serve and conceded no break point opportunities to their opponents.

The Ebden-Bopanna pair will face Croatia’s Ivan Dodig and the USA’s Austin Krajicek in the final. It will be a battle of the top two seeds.

Dodig and Krajicek beat the all-German team of Kevin Krawietz and Tim Putz 6-4, 6(4)-7(7), 10-7 via a super tie-breaker to make the final

Ebden, who rose to world No. 1 in doubles tennis rankings last month, will be contesting for his second ATP Masters title. The first also came with Bopanna at the Indian Wells last year.

This will also be Ebden’s fifth ATP Masters final with Bopanna. After winning the Indian Wells, the pair faltered at the last hurdle at the 2023 Madrid Open and Shanghai and Paris Masters.

Ebden is the last remaining Australian tennis player at the Miami Open 2024 tennis tournament.
