World record breaker Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, three-time Olympic gold medallist Ryan Crouser, and Olympic sprint champions Noah Lyles and Gabby Thomas are among the athletes nominated for the USA Track and Field Athlete of the Year awards.
McLaughlin-Levrone and Thomas are two of five women on the shortlist for the Female Athlete of the Year crown, named after Jackie Joyner-Kersee. They are joined by Valarie Allman, Tara Davis-Woodhall, and Masai Russell.
Meanwhile, Crouser and Lyles are among the six American men on the Jesse Owens Male Athlete of the Year shortlist, alongside Rai Benjamin, Quincy Hall, Cole Hocker, and Grant Holloway.
Three other awards are also up for grabs for US athletes, in Breakthrough Performer, Inspirational Olympic Performance, and Most Dominant Performer categories.
