The NCAA Division I basketball tournament - better known as March Madness - is the pinnacle of collegiate basketball. This historic tournament, which first began in 1939 (the women's tournament was added in 1982), sees 68 teams battle it out in single-elimination play over the course of three weeks until one team remains: the national champions.
The competition is just as famous for its incredible upsets as it is for shining a spotlight on future WNBA and NBA stars (a certain 19-year-old North Carolina freshman named Michael Jordan rose to national stardom after hitting the game-winning shot in the 1982 championship game against Georgetown).
Below you'll find our handy guide to the upcoming tournaments, including key dates and the best way to watch the madness.
