The men's NCAA Division I collegiate basketball tournament is nearing its crescendo after a weekend of scintillating action, which saw the Sweet 16 field trimmed to the Elite Eight, and then halved again to leave the Final Four teams that will compete for the national championship.

Below you'll find more information on each team, their path to the Final Four, the Final Four schedule, and how to watch the games.

Which teams are in the Final Four?

University of Conneticut Huskies (No.4 seed)

The Huskies are playing the best basketball of the season at exactly the right time. After starting the preseason ranked just outside the top-25 in the Associated Press (AP) Poll, UConn quickly picked up steam and entered the tourmanent as the No.4 seed in the West bracket. The Huskies have won their first four games of March Madness by an average of 22.5 points per game, beating Iona (No. 13), Saint Mary's (No.5), Arkansas (No.8) and Gonzaga (No.3) en route to their first Final Four apperance since 2014, when UConn would go on to win the fourth men's national title in the program's history.

University of Miami (No.5 seed)

The Hurricanes have been one of the most potent offensive teams throughout March Madness, scoring 81.2 points per game. They're also shooting an absurd 23 free throws per game, with the easy looks contributing to their point total and, crucially, slowing the game down, since the Hurricane's defense ranks outside the top 100 nationally. However, they'll have to be on top of their game on both sides of the ball if Miami wants to make their first championship game in program history: they face the only team with a higher points per game total in UConn on 1 April.

San Diego State University (No. 5 seed)

The Aztecs have reached the Final Four for the first time in the school's history thanks to a nail-biting 57-56 win over No. 6 Creighton on Sunday (26 March), with senior Darrion Trammell converting an all-important free throw to put San Diego State in front for good.

Creighton's point total of 56 - after averaging 77 per game this season - is testament to the Aztecs' stifling defense, which has been a potent weapon throughout the tournament.

San Diego now face one of the feel-good stories of the tournament in Florida Atlantic University, who ranked 25th in offensive efficiency this season.

Florida Atlantic University (No. 9 seed)

March Madness is one of the most-watched sports tournaments in North America not solely due to the high level of basketball and thrilling finishes, but also because of the huge upsets and Cinderella stories that happen every year. In 2023, the Owls have taken up the mantle of loveable underdogs.

Florida Atlantic (FAU) plays in a non-power league in Conference USA; their home arena pales in comparison to the giant venues of their competitors, and prior to this season, the Owls were yet to win a game in the men's NCAA tournament.

But FAU came into March Madness on their own merit after a 31-3 season, and proved they belong at the Final Four thanks to wins over Memphis (No.8), Farleigh Dickinson (no.16), Tennessee (No.4) and Kansas State (No.3).
