The figure skating season continued on in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships over the weekend (9-12 February), featuring the top international skaters from outside of Europe.

A pair of 17-year-old captured the singles titles, with Japan's Miura Kao holding on to his short program lead as the final skater of the men's free, registering a career-best 281.53 for the victory.

On Friday, another 17-year-old in Lee Haein of the Republic of Korea captured the biggest title of her career, surging from sixth place to beat compatriot Kim Yelim - the short program leader - for the gold. It's the first time Korea has gone one-two in any discipline at Four Continents in the event's 24 stagings.

In pairs, reigning world silver medallists Miura Riku and Kihara Ryuichi, also from Japan, claimed a fourth major gold medal this season after sweeping the Grand Prix. They scored a 208.24 total.

And in ice dance, Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates, the reigning world bronze medallists, won their third title at Four Continents, coming in with a career-best 220.81.

The ISU World Figure Skating Championships are next, set for 19-25 March in Saitama, Japan.
