Indian men’s skeet shooter Mairaj Ahmad Khan will look to secure an early ticket for Paris 2024 Olympics at the ISSF Shotgun World Championship 2022 in Osijek, Croatia, which starts from September 26.

Apart from the seniors' world championships, the International Shooting Sport Federation junior world championship will also take place at the same venue from Tuesday. All finals can be seen on live streaming.

Mairaj Ahmad Khan, a two-time Olympian, will be high on confidence after creating history at the ISSF World Cup Changwon in July. Khan became the first Indian shooter to win a World Cup gold medal in the men’s skeet individual event.

The meet at Osijek will see shooters participate in individual and team events in trap and skeet. The shooting event offers Paris 2024 Olympics quota places to the top four finishers in each of the individual events.

India have sent 12 shooters for the world championships. Three each for men's and women's trap and skeet competitions.

Mairaj Ahmad Khan will accompany Khangura Gurjoat and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka in the men’s skeet team.

In the women’s skeet, Maheshwari Chauhan, Raiza Dhillon, and Darshna Rathore will be eyeing good performances.

Prithviraj Tondaiman, Vivaan Kapoor, and Bhowneesh Mendiratta, who clinched a bronze in men’s trap team at the ISSF World Cup Changwon held in July, will also team up at Osijek.

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Shreyasi Singh will lead India’s women’s trap team.

The ISSF World Championship Shotgun in Osijek will conclude on October 11.

It will be followed by the ISSF World Championship rifle/pistol to be held in Cairo from October 12 to 25.
