Young Indian shooter Divyansh Singh Panwar won gold to lead an Indian clean sweep in the men’s 10m Air Rifle at the Asian Online Shooting Championship on Saturday.

Competing from the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi, Divyansh Singh Panwar shot 632.4 to clinch gold while Arjun Babuta scored 630.1 to take silver and Deepak Kumar’s 628.8 won him the bronze medal.

Panwar and Deepak Kumar have already won two quota places for Indian shooters at the Tokyo Olympics later this year.

In the women’s trap event, Rajeshwari Kumari took home the gold with a score of 138. Teammates Shreyasi Singh won silver and Manisha Keer bronze.

Kynan Chenai was India’s third gold medallist of the day with his score of 145 in the men’s trap while another Indian shooter Prithviraj Tondaiman won bronze.

The performance came a day after Asian Games champion Saurabh Chaudhary’s gold in the men’s 10m Air Pistol. It gave India four of the eight gold medals on offer, besides two silvers and five bronze medals.

The Asian Online Shooting Championship - hosted by the Kuwait Shooting Federation – was the first competition for Indian shooters post the lockdown and it served as good preparation for the upcoming ISSF World Cups in March and April.

The two-day competition, which concluded on Saturday, saw 274 shooters from 22 Asian countries take part.
