India vs Germany hockey, live streaming: Paris 2024 medallists face off in bilateral series in New Delhi - full schedule and where to watch

The Indian men's hockey team will face world champions Germany in a two-match bilateral series at the iconic Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi this week.

Both IND vs GER hockey matches will be available on live streaming and telecast in India. The first India vs Germany hockey match will be played on Wednesday followed by the second on Thursday.

The bilateral series will mark the return of International hockey to the Indian capital after a decade. While India will benefit from home support, the two matches against world champions Germany will pose a formidable challenge for Craig Fulton's men.

Germany had defeated India 3-2 in the Paris 2024 Olympics semi-finals and had won the FIH Hockey World Cup in India last year.

World No. 2 Germany settled for the silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics after losing to the Netherlands in the penalty shootout.

India, currently ranked fifth in FIH hockey rankings, had clinched their second successive Olympic bronze after winning 2-1 against Spain in the third-place playoff in Paris.

The two teams also squared off twice this year in the FIH Pro League, where India came out on top with 3-0 and 3-2 wins. India also head into the series after winning the Asian Champions Trophy last month.

Head coach Craig Fulton has named a full-strength 22-member Indian hockey team for the series with star drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh as captain and midfielder Vivek Sagar Prasad as vice-captain. Hardik Singh, who was named Hockey India’s Men’s Player of the Year for 2023, missed out due to injury.

“The team we have picked is an experienced one, with several players from the bronze medal-winning Paris Olympics squad,” Craig Fulton said during the team announcement.

“We will also have Rajinder Singh and Aditya Arjun Lalage make their international debut during this series, they have shown a lot of promise during the training camp,” Fulton added.
