A six-time world champion outdoors, American sprinting superstar Noah Lyles is seeking his first-ever world title indoors.
The reigning 100m and 200m gold medallist is set to feature at the World Athletics Indoor Championships this weekend (1-3 March) in Glasgow, Scotland, where he'll race the 60m.
Lyles captured the U.S. title over domestic rival Christian Coleman on 17 February (above), winning the race by just .01 seconds with a personal best 6.43 effort.
The 26-year-old said he is aiming for “all the Olympic medals” at Paris 2024, and the shorter 60m sprint distance will give him an invaluable opportunity to work on what he considers to be the weakest part of his skill set: his start.
Coleman is also set to feature in the 60m, having won the silver medal at the most recent World Indoors in 2022 behind reiging 100m Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs of Italy. Jacobs will not feature in Glasgow.
