It’s easy to forget that Coco Gauff is just 19 years old such has been her prevalence in the women’s game since first breaking onto the tour in 2018.
But the American, not without trial and tribulation, is now flourishing at the top level most recently adding the US Open title to her coffers in 2023.
And now her quest for tennis greatness has continued in 2024. After winning her seventh singles crown at the WTA 250 event in Auckland the teen is now in her first-ever Australian Open quarter-final without having dropped a set.
Awaiting her in Tuesday’s quarter-final will be Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine who is ranked 35th.
Gauff leads 21-year-old Kostyuk 1-0 in a head-to-head. They previously met at the 2022 Adelaide International where the American prevailed in three sets.
When will Coco Gauff play against Marta Kostyuk 2024 Australian Open?
Gauff will meet Kostyuk in the Australian Open quarter-final on Tuesday 23 January.
The match will take place on Rod Laver Arena and will follow the opening match of the day meaning Gauff is not expected to be on court before 13:00 AEDT.
Factoring in the time difference between Australia and the United States, it means the match won't start before 21:00 (ET) on Monday 22 January.
