The Blues currently have two games in hand on the Reds, though that will be halved come Sunday, and sit four points behind the league leaders.

Barclays Women's Super League 2023, Chelsea vs Man United: Preview

Before we look at how to tune into this huge tie, let's take delve into the shared league history between the two.

United’s trip to the capital this weekend will pave way for the eighth time in total that these two sides have locked horns in the WSL, with Chelsea having the upper hand.

By all accounts, each time they’ve gone head-to-head it has been a relatively close contest, barring a heavy 6-1 loss for the Reds at the start of last season.

If United do want to go on and win the league, however, there would be no time like the present for them to record a first-ever win over their upcoming opponents.

The closest they have been in the past was a 1-1 draw in their second season in this league. Every other time has seen Chelsea walk away with all three points.

Sunday will mark the second time this season that these two sides have come face-to-face, with Emma Hayes’s side getting the better of United in a 3-1 victory.

Sam Kerr opened the scoring on the hour mark before former United forward Lauren James dealt a hammer blow four minutes later to make it 2-0.

Alessia Russo pulled one back for Marc Skinner’s team with 20 to go, but it would be nothing more than a consolation as Erin Cuthbert’s stoppage-time strike secured all three points for the traveling outfit.
