Gangwon 2024 Closing Ceremony: Things you need to know and how to watch the Youth Olympic Games ending celebration

The Republic of Korea will celebrate the end of competitions at the Youth Olympics and say goodbye to young athletes and fans from around the globe at the Closing Ceremony on Thursday 1 February. Here's what to look out for at the YOG showpiece.

The Youth Winter Olympic Games, Gangwon 2024 officially end on Thursday, 1 February.

Young athletes have been the centrepiece of the event over the past two weeks and will receive a final celebration at the Closing Ceremony.

The open plaza next to the Gangneung Hockey Centre in the Republic of Korea will say goodbye with a spectacular show on Thursday 1 February.

You can watch it live on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the official Olympics app from 20:00 Korea Standard Time (KST).

At the Closing Ceremony, local DJ, K.hertz will begin the celebrations at 19:30 with a preshow to welcome athletes, volunteers, and fans.

A highlight video of Gangwon 2024 will be shown on the main screen when the ceremony officially gets underway at 20:00, before rapper Lee Young-ji and dancing group 1Million will perform.

During the ceremony, six athletes who have competed at the event will come to the stage to thank the volunteers on behalf of all young athletes that participated.
