EA Sports’ FIFA 22 to include Indian Super League
All 11 ISL clubs will feature in FIFA 22, which also includes teams from the English Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga.
The Indian Super League (ISL) and game developer EA Sports have collaborated to include the top football league of India in the next edition of the hit game, FIFA.
All 11 clubs of ISL, including their kits and other associated marks, will be a part of FIFA 22, which boasts more than 700 teams from over 30 leagues across the world.
UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, English Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A are some of the top tournaments that will be offered on FIFA 22.
ISL, now in its eighth season, was earlier accessible on FIFA Mobile in 2019 but it is the first time the Indian football league will be available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as personal computers.
The organisers of ISL aim to increase fan engagement through this initiative and cater to the fast-growing esports community of India. The ISL 2021-22 season will start on November 19.
Esports has been making inroads into traditional sports competitions and are now part of the Asian Games 2022 to be held in Hangzhou, China. Eight games, including FIFA, will be medal events at the big-ticket continental competition.
Esports was a demonstration event at the 2018 Asian Games.
The first edition of FIFA was released in 1993 and has been updated every year since 1995.
FIFA 22 will be released globally on October 1.
