The wait is almost over for the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT), with new boss Emma Hayes set to officially take the reins in June.
Taking on arguably the biggest job in women’s football, Hayes will conclude her time at Chelsea on 18 May before a quick turnaround to be on the touchline for the United States on 1 June.
The Americans will take on the Republic of Korea in a double header, the first of which in Colorado before concluding in Minnesota on 4 June.
“It will be exciting for everyone to have Emma on board for the June games,” said U.S. interim head coach Twila Kilgore.
“We need as many quality games as we can get heading into the Olympics and Korea Republic will provide good tests.
“While we will be watching every game our players play in their club environments over the next three months, the matches in Colorado and Minnesota are the final international matches before the Olympic Team is chosen, so they will carry that extra charge.”
Hayes and her then-selected Olympic squad will have a further two preparation matches prior to Paris 2024, which will be announced in due course.
