Commonwealth Games welcomes back cricket after 24 long years with women’s T20 Internationals being the format of choice in Birmingham.
The cricket event at Birmingham 2022 will see eight nations competing. The teams are divided into two groups.
Group A features world No. 1 Australia, Asian giants India and Pakistan alongside Barbados. Group B, meanwhile, comprises hosts England, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
Each team plays the other once in the group phase after which the top two teams from each group move on to the semi-finals. The semi-final winners face off in the final for the gold medal while the losers clash for the bronze medal.
All matches of the Commonwealth Games 2022 women’s cricket T20I tournament will be played at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
