Caitlin Clark is a record-breaker once again.

The 22-year-old North American college basketball senior scored 32 points in Iowa’s 64-54 win over the West Virginia Mountaineers to bring her season total to 1,113, breaking the NCAA Division I women’s record for most points in a single season.

The previous record of 1,109 points was held by Olympic 3x3 basketball champion Kelsey Plum who set the bar during the 2016-17 season.

Clark had already passed Plum’s women’s NCAA career scoring record in February.

With Clark’s performance, top-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes defeated No. 8 seed West Virginia 65-54 to punch their ticket into the Sweet 16 stage of the NCAA Division I Women's Tourmament 2024, also known as March Madness.

The Hawkeyes will next face No. 5 Colorado in Albany, New York, on Saturday 30 March.
