A total of 48 cyclists are set to compete for Paris 2024 quota spots* in BMX freestyle at the Olympic Qualifier Series 2024 (OQS), which begins with the first stage in Shanghai, People's Republic of China, from 16-19 May.
A total of 12 BMX freestyle quota spots can be obtained by athletes at OQS: six in the women's park event and six in the men's park.
At OQS, quotas will be obtained based on a points system. A maximum of 50 points is available in Shanghai, with another 50 in Budapest.
In addition to the six riders who will qualify in each event from OQS, a further six quotas for Paris 2024 will be obtained by National Olympic Committees based on their performances at the 2022 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships, 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Championships, and the host nation quota, for a total of 12 BMX freestyle riders per event in Paris.
*As National Olympic Committees have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective teams at the Olympic Games, athletes' participation at Paris 2024 depends on their NOC selecting them to represent their delegation. Click here to view the qualification system for each sport.
