Height might not be everything in the battleground of the NBA, the world’s premier basketball league, but it certainly can go a long way when it comes to making a lasting impression.

For decades the league has embraced some of the world’s tallest stars and given them a platform to shine.

Players such as Yao Ming became household names during their careers, using their height to make an unforgettable impact while current stars such as Victor Wembanyama are showing what height matched with athleticism and flexibility can do when put to the test.

To date, Gheorghe Muresan and Manute Bol share the title of being the tallest people to ever play in the NBA hitting the hardwood at 7 feet 7 inches.

Can Canada's Olivier Rioux make this list one day? At 7 feet, 9 inches (2.4m) tall, he is poised to become the tallest player in US college basketball history.
