The race for places at badminton's BWF World Tour Finals 2023 is over with the top eight players or pairings in each discipline qualifying for the season-ending tournament in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China from 13-17 December 2023.
That is usually comprised of the top eight in the Race to Finals rankings following the conclusion of the China Masters on 26 November, but world champions gain automatic qualification and only two players or pairings per nation are permitted.
In men's singles, Thailand's Copenhagen Worlds hero Kunlavut Vitidsarn finished outside the top eight meaning only the top seven in the rankings would make Hangzhou.
Nishimoto Kenta had the chance to displace Anders Antonsen from the seventh and final spot on the last day of the qualifying window, but went down to fellow Japanese Naraoka Kodai in the China Masters final.
That result saw Naraoka go top of the Race to Finals rankings.
In the event of injuries to qualifiers, the next highest players or pairings in the Road to Finals rankings would replace them in China.
Despite recently becoming men's doubles world number ones, India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty were 13th in the Race to Finals rankings going into the China Masters and could not qualify for Hangzhou.
