Asian Games 2023 India schedule today, 7 October: India vs Afghanistan in men’s cricket final, kabaddi golds on the line

The Indian men’s cricket team will play Afghanistan for the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China on Saturday.

Both Indian men’s and women’s kabaddi teams will also be raiding for the top podium when they face Iran and Chinese Taipei and Iran, respectively. Iran had denied India the gold in both men’s and women’s events at Jakarta 2018, making the men’s final in particular an interesting affair.

Multiple medals are expected Saturday in archery with compound archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Ojas Pravin Deotale and Abhishek Verma in individual finals. Aditi Swami will also get a crack at bronze in the women’s compound event.

Both Indian men’s and women’s chess teams are also in the running for medals on the final day of chess events at the Asian Games 2023.

Olympian Deepak Punia will take the mat as wrestling at the Asian Games 2023 wraps up on the penultimate day of the continental showpiece.

In badminton, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty will be aiming to go where no Indian has gone before. The ‘Brothers of Destruction’ have the opportunity to win India their first-ever badminton gold at the Asian Games when they face the Republic of Korea’s Choi Soi Gyu/Kim Won Ho in the men’s doubles final.
