Aliyah Boston went as the No.1 pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft on Monday night (10 April).
In a move that surprised no one, the Fever used the first No.1 draft pick in the franchise’s history to choose the South Carolina, star widely regarded as one of the best female basketball prospects in recent years following a stellar college career.

She also boasts a gold medal for Team USA in 3x3 at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), where she was the tallest player in the tournament at 1.96m (6ft 5inch).
Boston was one of three South Carolina players taken in the first round with Laeticia Amihere going eighth to Atlanta and Zia Cooke going 10th to the Los Angeles Sparks.
Minnesota drafted Diamond Miller of Maryland with the No. 2 pick, and the Dallas Wings chose Maddy Siegrist of Villanova with the third pick.
