The 16 basketball teams competing at the 2023 FIBA Women's EuroBasket now know their fate after the groups for the tournament's opening stages were revealed on Wednesday (8 March).

The draw for the tournament, which will be played in Slovenia and Israel from 15-25 June, split the qualified teams into four groups of four teams organised by pre-determined seedings based on the FIBA World Rankings.

Defending title-holders Serbia, five-time runners-up France, former champions Spain and world number seven-ranked Belgium were all allocated as No.1 seeds and so were placed into each of the four groups. A similar pattern was followed for the 12 other remaining teams.

The group stages will be shared between the co-hosts with Tel Aviv hosting Group A and B and Ljubljana welcoming Group C and D.

The winners of each group will advance directly to the quarter-finals while the second and third-place finishers compete in play-offs for the four remaining places.

The Final Phase will take place in Slovenia, with the title-deciding game to be held at the Stozice Arena on 25 June.
