Badminton is a big deal in Malaysia, and four of its star players are in action at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Saturday (6 August).

First on court at Birmingham's NEC at men's doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, who take on Brian Kasirye and Daniel Wanagaliya of Uganda in the quarter-finals.

Chia and Soh have been on fire so far in the West Midlands, and it would take a seismic upset for them to lose this fixture.

The duo, who won bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and silver at the 2022 Asian Championships, didn't concede one game in their six matches as Malaysia won the mixed event.

It should be a much closer encounter in the next match, as Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan lock horns with Singapore's Jin Yujia and Wong Jia Ying Crystal in the women's doubles quarter-finals.

The Malaysians also achieved the feat of not dropping a set en route to mixed team victory
