Live streaming, Spanish Hockey Federation 100th anniversary: Indian teams to play - where to watch, full schedule

The Indian men’s and women’s hockey teams will be in action at the 100th Anniversary Spanish Hockey Federation International Tournament 2023 in Terrassa from July 25 to 30.

The tournament in Spain, also called the Torneo del Centenario, will be available on live streaming in India.

The Torneo del Centenario is being played to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the Real Federacion Espanola de Hockey - the Spanish hockey federation. The tournaments will give the participating teams some invaluable match time heading into the Asian Games 2023, which gets underway in Hangzhou, the People's Republic of China, from September.

While the men will play in a four-nation hockey tournament, the women’s event will be a three-nation affair.

The men’s and women’s tournaments will also follow different formats. In the men’s event, the four teams will face each other in a single-legged round-robin format and the top two teams will face each other in the final on July 30.

The women’s tournament will see the three teams play each other over two legs and the top team after all matches are over wins the trophy.

The Indian men’s hockey team, captained by drag-flick ace Harmanpreet Singh, was last seen in action in the FIH Pro League 2022-23, where they finished fourth.

The women’s team, to be led by goalkeeper Savita Punia, recently played three matches in Germany. Janneke Schopman’s side lost all three - two against the hosts and one against China.

The Indian men, coached by South African Craig Fulton, will open their campaign against the hosts on Tuesday. The Indian women’s hockey team will start its campaign vs England on Wednesday.

Live streaming of the Torneo del Centenario hockey matches will also be on the watch.hockey platform. There will be no live telecast of the hockey tournament on any TV channel in India.
