Vasty Jean Francois
Vasty Jean François grew up surrounded by sport, but it was during his high school and university years that he discovered a true passion for track and field. Alongside his athletic pursuits, he studied International Affairs and Environmental Studies, combining sport and academics with a vision for social change.
Having experienced first-hand the transformative power of sport, Vasty is determined to use it as a catalyst for unity, equality and positive community transformation. He believes that sport goes beyond physical activity, serving as a bridge across divides and a force for building a better world.
Play4Ward seeks to strengthen youth development in Haiti by improving access to structured handball training and resources for vulnerable children and adolescents aged 8 to 18 in Pétion-Ville. Many of these young athletes, although eager to play, lack the facilities, equipment and structured opportunities to grow within the sport.
The project provides handball training sessions, essential equipment and mentorship, creating a safe space where young people can learn, play and thrive. By fostering resilience, teamwork and leadership, Play4Ward contributes to healthier lifestyles and stronger communities, while promoting peace, inclusion and equal opportunities through sport.
