Project description

With funding from the IOC in 2018, Rania worked with several local organisations, notably Singapore’s Disability Sports Council and Fencing Singapore, to successfully launch wheelchair fencing in Singapore in January 2019. Wheelchair fencing has since been featured in several Inclusive Sports Day events and festivals. In July 2020, Fencing Singapore officially pledged to become an Inclusive National Sports Association and to become the governing body for persons with disabilities and able-bodied fencers. With Rania’s ongoing support, the organisation is actively working on a four-year roadmap towards the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
