Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. 30-year Olympic legacy of enabling meaningful connections through innovative technologies.
Exclusive product or service category: wireless communications equipment and computing equipment category.
Samsung began its legacy with the Olympic Games three decades ago as a local sponsor of the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games. With the Nagano 1998 Olympic Winter Games, the partnership elevated to the Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment category, which continues to today. Starting with the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, Samsung will expand to the Wireless Communication and Computing Equipment category, widening the product category from smartphones to other IT products including tablets, laptops, personal computers, and printers, to further enhance its commitment to the Olympic Movement.
From the very beginning of its involvement with the International Olympic Committee, Samsung has dedicated efforts to ensure the Olympic family, athletes, fans and consumers are exposed to unique experiences and innovative technologies that provide the opportunity for a more connected experience. With the state-of-the-art technology that inspires consumers to unlock their potential and the knowledge accumulated through years of sponsoring the Games, Samsung enables fans to not only to feel and share the excitement, but also to create them. Together with the Olympic Movement, Samsung showcases the shared values of achieving the extraordinary and inspiring others to ‘Do What You Can’t’.”
