17 December 2024 - The CNOM recently organised an Olympic visit for 1,200 pupils and supervisors to coincide with the National School Sports Championships. The event took place on 9 December in Meknès and was organised by the Ministry of National Education in cooperation with the Royal Federation of School Sports, among others. Info at www.cnom.org.ma.
08 November 2024 - The CNOM has announced the death of Olympian and former international footballer Abdelaziz Berrada. He was 35. Berrada was selected to play for the Atlas Lions on several occasions, including at the Africa Cup of Nations and at the Olympic Games London 2012. Details here.
05 July 2024 - The NOC recently organised a visit to the Jacques Chirac school in Rabat to mark Olympic Day. In addition, at the end of June, the NOC’s medical and administrative staff took part in one of WADA’s Anti-Doping Education and Learning (ADEL) courses, organised in Rabat by the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency, to prepare for their participation in the Games in Paris. 25 June 2024 - The NOC’s medical and administrative staff recently took part in antidoping training ahead of the Olympic Games in Paris. The training was organised by the Moroccan Antidoping Agency in Rabat on 13 June. 27 May 2024 - In cooperation with the Moroccan Department for the Promotion of School Sport, the CNOM organised an Olympic visit on the sidelines of the National School Basketball Championships, held in mid-May in Mehdia. One of the aims of the visit was to raise awareness about the importance of sport and the Olympic values among young people. In addition, the CNOM, along with 73 other NOCs supported by Olympic Solidarity, took part in the 17th International Session for National Olympic Academies and NOCs, organised by the International Olympic Academy (IOA) from 13 to 20 May in Olympia (Greece). **15 April 2024 -**To mark the IDSDP, the CNOM celebrated sport and its ability to bring people together, foster social cohesion and make the world a more peaceful and inclusive place. Through its various programmes and activities, the CNOM aims to use sport as a tool to promote the Olympic values, encourage tolerance and support the personal development of individuals, particularly young people. 02 April 2024 - The CNOM Olympic Academy recently held a videoconference on the theme of “Sport and Artificial Intelligence”. The CNOM also organised an Olympic visit for students at the Sports Careers Institute in the city of Kénitra. More details on www.cnom.org.ma.
**27 February 2024 - **The CNOM organised a seminar on the theme of mental and medical support for high-level athletes. The main objective was to share knowledge on ways to optimise sports performance while ensuring the mental and physical health of athletes. The seminar is part of the NOC’s strategy to support the national sports movement. More details here.
05 February 2024 - As part of the scholarship programme to prepare athletes for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, at the end of January the CNOM brought together the Moroccan scholarship-holders and their technical support staff. Individual assessments were conducted to check on the progress of the Olympic preparations. The programme also featured workshops on mental preparation, nutrition, medical monitoring and communication. More details here.
15 January 2024 - Last December, the CNOM organised an Olympic tour for pupils from Paul Valery school in Tangier. During the tour, a video looking back at the history of Morocco’s participation in the Olympic Games was shown, and a presentation was given on the Moroccan athletes already qualified for the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The CNOM also presented the school with a smart painting featuring a collage design of all the Moroccan Olympic champions. The tour ended with the planting of an olive tree on the school premises. 11 December 2023 - The Royal Moroccan Rowing Federation recently organised a technical course for coaches and judges in Rabat, which brought together 30 participants. The aim of the course was to develop coastal rowing in the framework of Olympic Solidarity programmes. More info here. In addition, the CNOM organised an Olympic tour for pupils from Al Jabr school in Bouskoura. 27 November 2023 - The CNOM hosted the third seminar for technical and sports directors organised by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) on 10 and 11 November 2023 in Rabat. More than 60 representatives from 43 NOCs took part. The seminar enabled them to discuss and share their knowledge and experience, and create a network to ensure that their athletes are properly prepared for the upcoming Olympic Games. 30 october 2023 - Mustapha Zekri, the former CNOM Vice-President, has died aged 87. He was also President of the Royal Moroccan Gymnastics Federation and a member of the Executive Committee of the International Committee of Mediterranean Games. Mr Zekri played an important role in developing sport in Morocco, contributing, among other things, to the growth of gymnastics in the country. Details here.
10 October 2023 - As part of the programme of grants to prepare for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, at the end of September the CNOM organised a third meeting for the athletes on the programme and their technical support staff. The agenda included individual assessment sessions to review Olympic preparation progress, and workshops on mental preparation, medical monitoring and communication. More details here.
27 September 2023 - Meeting on 20 September, the CNOM Executive Committee, chaired by Faïçal Laraichi, discussed a number of points including the CNOM management and governance structure and budgets, the progress of logistical preparations for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, and Olympic qualification progress. 06 June 2023 - On 25 May, Bilal Mellakh and Fatima Zahra Elmamouny, who have already qualified for the breaking competitions at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, visited the CNOM headquarters. In addition, the CNOM communications team took part in the sixth webinar organised at the end of May by the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) on social media. 24 May 2023 - The CNOM organised Olympic visits for pupils from 12 state schools on 15, 16 and 18 May in Khémisset, Salé and Sidi Slimane. The aim was, among other things, to raise awareness among Moroccan young people about the importance of playing sport in all its forms. 15 may 2023 - On 3 May, CNOM Secretary General Abdellatif Idmahamma attended a meeting in Rabat to set up a national platform based on the Macolin Convention to combat match-fixing in sport. More details on www.cnom.org.ma.

25 april 2023 - To mark the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, the CNOM celebrated sport’s power to bring people together, create social harmony and make the world a more peaceful place. To this end, the CNOM took part in the initiative launched by the Peace and Sport organisation, to show that sport can play an essential role in fostering peace in our communities. 16 March 2023 - CNOM President Faïçal Laraichi met Côte d’Ivoire NOC Vice-President Stéphane Ouegnin on 9 March at the CNOM headquarters in Rabat. The two leaders discussed ways for the two entities to cooperate on developing sports projects and strengthen their partnership. More info here. On 8 March, the CNOM celebrated Moroccan women, and particularly those who contribute to the development of sport at national level. The CNOM also recently held video conferences with the NOCs of Gabon and Togo to discuss upcoming visits as part of the NOC exchange programme from Olympic Solidarity.
16 February 2023 - The Moroccan NOC organised a teambuilding event for its operations team at the end of January. The CNOM was accompanied by two certified coaches, who led workshops and various fun activities focusing on basic management concepts, with a view to developing team spirit and strengthening the internal solidarity and motivation of the team. More details here. In addition, in the framework of its support to future sports management diploma-holders, the NOC welcomed young students for an internship starting on 1 February 2023. These interns are studying for their master’s degree at schools and universities specialising in sports organisation management.
04 October 2022 - As part of the support strategy for national federations in preparing Moroccan athletes for the Olympic Games Paris 2024, this month the Moroccan NOC (CNOM) launched a new scholarship programme to provide additional financial support to eligible Moroccan athletes. These scholarships are partly financed by Olympic Solidarity and ACNOA, and mainly thanks to the CNOM and the Sports Ministry through the convention on implementing the pluriannual athlete preparation and participation programme for international competitions between 2019 and 2028, signed in April 2019. 05 September 2022 - Between 25 and 28 August in Rabat, the Moroccan NOC held the fifth and final module of its training course for high-level coaches. A total of 31 national coaches from various national federations took part, with presentations on dietary aspects of performance, evaluating projects and optimising performance projects. The participants were subsequently awarded their course certificates after presenting their sports projects to a jury composed of experts. More details here.
28 June 2022 - To mark Olympic Day, the Moroccan NOC organised a visit to its headquarters for schoolchildren, to promote the Olympic values and talk about the benefits of practising sport. Full details on www.cnom.org.ma.
7 June 2022 - The Moroccan NOC held the fourth module of its high-level coaches training course from 18 to 22 May in Ifrane. A total of 31 coaches took the module, in which three international experts provided training in areas such as strategy development and the implementation of evaluation measures and tools. 16 May 2022 - The NOC of Morocco (CNOM) is continuing its strategy to promote the practice of sport and its values through the Olympic Visits programme for young children in state schools. Aiming to replicate the experience across all regions of the country, the CNOM, in collaboration with the Regional Education and Training Academy of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, has just launched the second edition of this programme, which – among other things – aims to raise awareness among Moroccan youngsters of the importance of practising sport in all its forms. 18 March 2022 - On 15 March, the Digital Olympic Academy of the Moroccan NOC held a videoconference with the theme “Meeting with Olympians”. A few days earlier, the NOC organised the third module of its high-level coaches training course in Bouznika. More info at www.cnom.ma.org.
03 December 2021 - The Moroccan NOC organised the second high-level coaches’ training module, attended by 31 coaches, from 25 to 27 November in Bouznika. The training aims to give coaches professional and sporting skills to help them devise, manage and provide expertise for training programmes and optimise sporting performances. More info here. 05 November 2021 - The Moroccan NOC took part in a webinar organised at the end of October by the IOC and the Council of Europe on the theme “The Role of National Olympic Committees within a National Cooperation Framework”. 25 October 2021 - Abdellatif Idmahamma (see photo), the Secretary General of the Moroccan NOC, was elected to the Executive Committee of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG) at the recent remote ICMG General Assembly. 01 October 2021 - Since 22 September, the Moroccan NOC has held a series of meetings with Royal Moroccan Federations to discuss Moroccan athletes’ preparation for and participation in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The aim is to conduct an objective evaluation and comprehensive assessments on the technical, administrative, financial and medical aspects, in order to improve support and monitoring for the athletes for the next major international sporting events. 24 September 2021 - The Moroccan NOC was represented by its Secretary General, Abdellatif Idmahamma, at a reception organised on 14 September by the Mohammed VI Foundation of Sports Champions. 02 July 2021 - As part of its programme to promote the Olympic values, and to mark Olympic Day, on 23 June the Moroccan NOC organised visits for schoolchildren to teach them about the history of Moroccan sport and explain the values and core aspects of Olympism (see photo). On the same day, in Rabat, the NOC took part in a national gathering organised by the National Ministry of Education, the theme of which was “Sports champions at the service of school and university sport”. The goal is to facilitate the medical care of athletes by providing special access to the Foundations’ hospital services. The beneficiaries are the Moroccan athletes who are preparing for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028, and who have been selected by the National Sports Federations. 07 June 2021 - On 2 June, the Moroccan NOC’s Digital Olympic Academy organised a video conference on the theme “The role and usefulness of insurance in sports practice”. This video conference was attended by representatives of Worldwide Olympic Partner Allianz. In addition, NOC Vice-President Hamid Lahlou-Kamal was elected 3rd Vice-President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) at the ANOCA General Assembly held in May in Cairo (Egypt). 25 May 2021 - The Moroccan NOC held its ordinary general assembly on 19 May at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat. The topics discussed included the accounts for 2019 and 2020. 23 April 2021 - The Executive Committee of the NOC of Morocco, whose President is Faïçal Laraichi, held its 28th meeting, by videoconference, on 15 April. The subjects addressed included: the ethical and financial reports of 2019 and 2020; the date of the next NOC Ordinary General Assembly; support for the relevant national federations for the Olympic Games; logistical preparations for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020; and the status of Moroccan qualification. 01 March 2021 - To mark the IDSP, the Moroccan NOC organised two Olympic visits to the Imam Ali and Al Massira schools on 2 and 6 April. On both occasions, the NOC reminded the schoolchildren of the Olympic values and their contribution to breaking down barriers and promoting peace within and between nations. More details here. 15 February 2021 - On 4 February, Moroccan NOC (CNOM) President Faïçal Laraichi (right of photo) met International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) President Vladimir Lisin (left of photo), accompanied by the acting President of the Royal Moroccan Shooting Sport Federation, Abdeladim Lhafi, at the CNOM headquarters. During the meeting, they discussed future cooperation between the two parties to develop sport shooting both nationally and internationally, following the success of the fourth edition of the ISSF Moroccan Sport Shooting Grand Prix held in Rabat between 28 January and 6 February. The CNOM has also held a meeting on preparations for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 with the Sports Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, and another on coordinating the fight against doping in 2021 with the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency and the Regional Anti-Doping Organisation. 08 February 2021 - On 27 January, the Moroccan NOC’s Digital Olympic Academy organised a videoconference on “How to bounce back with optimism during a crisis”. On the same day, the NOC took part in a webinar for the French-speaking African countries, organised in the framework of the series of the IOC-INTERPOL webinars on the prevention of the manipulation of competitions. 01 February 2021 - On 14 January, the Moroccan NOC took part in a webinar organised by the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee concerning COVID-19 countermeasures. The NOC also launched its weekly digital newsletter, which features a selection of Olympic and sports news. Info at www.cnom.org.ma.
7 December 2020 - At the end of November, the Moroccan NOC’s technical team held a meeting to assess the monitoring of the federations and to organise a videoconference with the scholarship holders preparing for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The NOC also contributed to the work of the coordination meeting of the Regional Academy of Education and Training, before meeting representatives from the country’s sports authorities and discussing the national sports programme. 23 November 2020 - On 12 November, the Moroccan NOC took part in the coordination meeting of the Regional Academy of Education and Training. Several days earlier, the NOC’s operations team had met to assess the support being provided to federations and the monitoring of Moroccan athletes preparing for the Olympic Games. 30 October 2020 - As part of a series of Olympic visits, the NOC of Morocco recently received a group of young athletes from the national table tennis team to introduce them to Morocco’s Olympic history (see photo). 05 October 2020 - On 19 September, the Moroccan NOC organised an anti-doping awareness session in El Jadida, in cooperation with the Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (RADO). The session brought together a number of Moroccan weightlifters training to qualify for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. 22 May 2020 - The Moroccan NOC has been involved in numerous actions to support the national sports movement during the lockdown period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. These have included videoconferences on sports-related topics for national technical directors, coaches and athletes; videoconferences with national federation leaders to help them continue supporting the preparation of athletes for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and inform them of the latest news from the IOC; the launch of an awareness-raising campaign on social media, with videos of athletes encouraging Moroccans to stay at home and comply with the health guidelines; and a contribution by the NOC to the national fund set up to help people in financial difficulties due to the pandemic. 09 March 2020 - As part of its training and support strategy for the Moroccan royal federations, the Moroccan NOC held a seminar on organising sports projects with three international experts from INUKSUIT, a company put forward by Olympic Solidarity. More than 30 federations were represented at this seminar, which took place in two phases: on 18 and 19 February for the national technical directors and the coaches of the national teams; and on 20 and 21 February for the federations’ sports leaders. The seminar aims to provide participants with concrete tools to help them better design and prepare their sports projects. More info here.
14 may 2019 - In the framework of its “Olympic Scholarship Tokyo 2020” programme, the Moroccan NOC organised a meeting on 16 April with the 10 athletes chosen by Olympic Solidarity for its qualification and preparation for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 programme (photo above). The presidents and national technical directors of the federations concerned also attended, to talk about how the scholarship procedure will work. More details here. In addition, in the framework of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on 6 April, the NOC organised an open day devoted to the history of Olympism in Morocco. This event was a great success, and provided a chance to promote the Olympic values and the principles of peace and tolerance to 250 young athletes from more than 20 federations.
08 March 2019 - In cooperation with the Moroccan NOC, the Royal Archery Federation of Morocco organised a course for 10 national and international trainers at the Moulay Rachid National Sports Centre. Held in February under the auspices of Olympic Solidarity, the course is part of a refresher programme for trainers with a view to developing archery in Morocco. More info here.
01 March 2019 - The Moroccan NOC has just informed us that, at the Moulay Rachid National Sports Centre, the Royal Moroccan Rowing Federation last year organised a training session for 27 national coaches, under the aegis of Olympic Solidarity. For the Federation, this session meets the objectives of its 2016-2021 project, for which the motto is “train to win”. The Federation is thus seeking to train rowing technical managers to promote the growth of the sport and prepare the human resources needed to use the new boats that will be purchased in order to develop the national sports structure.
