With 2012 drawing to an end, what better time to take a look back on an incredible year of sport for the Youth Olympic Games athletes and celebrate their amazing achievements?

Over the next few days we will bring to you some of our favourite YOG memories of the year.  
The year started in style with the first ever Winter Youth Olympic Games.  Over 1,000 athletes gathered in the picturesque city of Innsbruck, Austria, to compete against some of the best young sportsmen and women from around the world.   From the skill and agility on the ice to the nail-biting speed and excitement on the mountain; all seven winter sports on the Olympic programme at the Sochi Olympic Winter Games in 2014 featured at this first Winter YOG in Innsbruck.  
The athletes at Innsbruck 2012 not only stunned us all with their performances, but also made history on the biggest sporting stage of their lives.
