The World Anti-Doping Agency has just published the 2004 list of prohibited substances and methods, as approved by its Executive Committee last week. This list reflects the position of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) exactly. It will come into effect on 1 January 2004 and can be viewed at the website: www.wada-ama.org.
Main changes
The WADA Executive Committee approved the list of prohibited substances and methods last week at its meeting in Montreal. This is the first time that WADA is the only body responsible for its publication. The main changes this year concern caffeine and pseudo ephedrine, which have been removed from the list. Other substances, such as modafinil, have been added.
