POCOG President Hee-beom Lee said, “We feel our ticketing slogan of ‘Get your tickets and share the passion’ is a clear way to encourage people to join us in PyeongChang in a year’s time. It is a call to action for them to start planning and to join in with the excitement and wonderful memories that will be created.

“We want everyone to have the opportunity to be part of the first Olympic Winter Games in the Republic of Korea and for them to come and support our national athletes and watch the best Olympic winter athletes from around the world. It will be a momentous occasion and something we don’t want you to miss out on.”

Local fans will be able to start applying for tickets for all of the events, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, at 14:00 Korean time via the PyeongChang ticketing portal (http://tickets.pyeongchang2018.com). The portal will remain open until the end of the day on 23 April.

All applications will enter into a lottery, the results of which will be announced on 8 May. Successful applicants will then have until 14 May to complete their ticket purchases.

From September onwards, general online sales will reopen for the sale of any remaining tickets.

As ever, fans are being reminded to take great care only to purchase tickets from official authorised sources, either directly from the Pyeongchang 2018 portal or from authorised ticket resellers, a list of which is available at https://tickets.pyeongchang2018.com/atr. Ticket purchasing procedures for fans in the rest of the world will be confirmed by their respective National Olympic Committees or their official Authorised Ticket Reseller (ATR).
