Jamaica's sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce sustained a muscle injury at the World Athletics Championships 2023 that may force her to miss the rest of this season.
The 16-time world medallist was taken to hospital and examined after the 4x100m relay final which was her last race in Budapest. "The examination showed that the injury is not severe and she should progress quite fine," said Dr. Warren Blake to the "Jamaican Gleaner."
The 36-year-old has already begun treatment and is expected to recover without any complications.
"She is in good spirits," added Blake.
Fraser-Pryce, whose season began late due to a knee injury, won bronze in the 100m and helped her country to silver in the relay despite her injury.
