Rosa Khutor Alpine Centre - Olympic News

Rosa Khutor is the largest Alpine resort in Russia, located in the Krasnaya Polyana. It comprises an Alpine centre, a snowboard park, a freestyle skiing centre and the Mountain Olympic Village, all built as part of the Olympic Winter Games’ facilities.

The skiing season is extended up to 180 days depending on the height of the slope. Competition ski runs go along the northern slopes of Aibga Ridge, forming a single venue for hosting events in all Alpine ski disciplines: downhill, slalom, giant slalom and super G. In February 2016, the centre hosted the FIS Junior World Ski Championship and in the same year, it received almost two million visitors – nearly 600,000 more than in the previous year. After the Games, the Mountain Olympic Village was transformed into four hotels that welcome tourists all year long.
