Olympic Games Paris 2024 sports calendar and first ticket pricing details released
The sports competition calendar by event and the first ticket pricing details for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 have been released by the Organising Committee, with just over two years to go until the Games begin.
Athletes and fans can now find out what date and time each event will take place. Click here to see/download the full sports competition calendar by event. In all, 329 events will take place across 762 sessions between 24 July and 11 August. With many highlights throughout the 19 days of competition, the Games will have an action-packed opening.
Saturday 27 July will feature medal events in eight sports: cycling (women's and men's time trial), judo, fencing, diving, rugby, shooting, swimming and skateboarding. Notably, all the swimming and athletics finals will take place in the evening, from 8.30 p.m. for swimming (with the exception of the last day, with a 6.30 p.m. start), and from 7 p.m. for athletics.
The middle weekend (3 to 4 August) will also feature a busy line-up. Over those two days, medal events will take place in: tennis, table tennis, judo, fencing, athletics, archery, shooting, cycling, golf, equestrian, rowing, artistic gymnastics, badminton and swimming.
Set to make these the most gender-balanced Olympic Games in history, the programme provides opportunities for both women’s and men’s competition to be in the spotlight. Emphasis has been placed on ensuring an alternation between men and women for the programming of team sports finals as well as in other individual disciplines.
The last day of the Olympic Games, Sunday 11 August, will highlight women’s sport. Wrestling, weightlifting and track cycling will conclude with women's events, while the women's basketball final will also take place on this day. Then, only a few hours before the Closing Ceremony, for the first time since the introduction of the women's marathon to the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1984, the women's event, positioned the day after the men's event, will conclude the Paris 2024 athletics programme.
Tickets
While the official launch of ticketing, including the full price list, will take place in December 2022, Paris 2024 revealed some ticket information earlier today. More details can be found here.
Notably, more than one million tickets will be offered at EUR 24. Nearly 50 per cent of the tickets reserved for the general public will be at a price less than or equal to EUR 50. And almost a third of the general public tickets for medal events will be offered at EUR 100 or less.
These rates are made possible by the implementation of an adapted pricing policy. Single ticket prices for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will range from EUR 24 to 950 (excluding the ceremonies). The 15 per cent of the general public tickets offered at the highest rates make it possible for millions of tickets to be made available at lower prices.
Paris 2024 has also revealed that, for the first time, the general public will have the opportunity to purchase a multi-ticket package of up to three sessions from February 2023. For example, it will be possible to build an experience from EUR 72, selecting three sessions from athletics, handball and rugby; artistic gymnastics, judo and water polo; two sailing sessions and a football match in Marseille; or golf, equestrian and mountain biking in Yvelines.
Fans looking to increase their chances of getting tickets are being encouraged to become a member of Club Paris 2024. Members will receive updated ticket information and will have the opportunity to win priority access when sales open.
