IOC Executive Board approves two changes of nationality

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board (EB) today met remotely and, among its discussions, approved changes of nationalities for two athletes.

The IOC EB has granted the requested exemption to the necessary three-year waiting period for such changes following approval by the respective International Federations and National Olympic Committees (NOCs).

It thus confirmed the eligibility of the athletes to represent the country of the applicant NOC at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, subject to qualification:

  • Mr Tyler PAIGE – Sailing – from USA to American Samoa
  • Ms Vanessa JAMES – Figure Skating – from France to Canada
