141st IOC Session in Mumbai, India – Information for the media

1) GENERAL INFORMATION

The 141st IOC Session will be held from 15 to 17 October in Mumbai, India, with the opening ceremony to be held on the 14th. It will be preceded by a meeting of the IOC Executive Board (EB) on 12, 13 and 14 October.

The meetings of the Executive Board will take place at the Trident Hotel at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.

The IOC Session will take place at the adjacent Jio World Centre (JWC).

2) ACCREDITATION

Media representatives wishing to cover the IOC meetings are required to complete the accreditation application on the IOC websiteby 30 June 2023. Confirmation will be communicated no later than 31 July 2023. Any questions regarding the application procedure should be referred to the IOC Media Relations team at pressoffice@olympic.org.

3) VISAS AND IMMIGRATION

Visitors to India must obtain a visa unless they are from one of the two visa-exempt countries (Bhutan and Nepal). Nationals of all countries other than India, Nepal and Bhutan must obtain a visa prior to travelling to India.

Upon approval of the accreditation request, media will receive all the necessary documentation, including a letter of invitation that is required for the Journalist Visa.

Please be aware that the application process requires sufficient time. It can take up to several weeks.

4) SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Please click here for the planned schedule of events for the EB meeting and 141st IOC Session. This will be updated in due course. Media events are currently planned every day, from 12-17 October. This remains subject to change.

The IOC Session will also be live-streamed on IOC Media YouTube.

5) MEDIA AT THE EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

There will be a photocall before the start of the Executive Board meeting on 12, 13 and 14 October. Photographers and ENG camera operators who wish to attend the photocall should register their interest at the Media Welcome Desk in the JWC by 6 p.m. on the day before. There will be no interview opportunities at the photocall.

6) OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 141 st IOC SESSION

The Opening Ceremony of the 141st IOC Session will take place in the JWC on the evening of 14 October. There will be a red carpet outside the venue for media opportunities before the Opening Ceremony, and a limited number of positions for ENG camera operators and photographers inside and a limited number of seats for journalists.

7) BROADCAST COVERAGE OF THE IOC SESSION

For the 141st IOC Session, the IOC has appointed Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) as the host broadcaster and worldwide distributor of the coverage provided by the producer of the event. The international signals will be made available as “Pool Coverage” to participating broadcasters and other bona fide media organisations worldwide via Live Cloud distribution. The international signal will be in high definition with a 16:9 picture ratio, HD 1080i 50Hz.
