Julien Baehni

Julien Baehni joined the IOC on 1 January 2026 as Human Resources Director. He succeeds Xavier Tissières, who will retire at the end of July 2026. 

Prior to joining the IOC, he spent several years in the banking industry in client advisory and human resources roles before moving to UEFA in 2009. From 2012 to the end of 2025, he led UEFA’s Human Resources Department, guiding the organisation through a period of growth and transformation. In this role, he oversaw HR activities for around 850 employees, and developed and implemented a people strategy aligned with the organisation’s long-term vision and values.

He studied business administration and human resources. A former football player who spent over two decades at the same local club, he remains a sports enthusiast and enjoys running, boxing training and playing chess.
