Biography

Christophe De Kepper joined the IOC in 2001 as Chief of Staff under the presidency of Jacques Rogge and became IOC Director General in 2011. In this role, he runs the IOC administration’s day-to-day activities and prepares the strategic and political decisions of the IOC Executive Board.

De Kepper’s previous experience with the Belgian National Olympic Committee, the European Commission and as director of the Olympic Movement’s EU office serves him well in his current role.

Born in Uccle, Belgium, in 1963, he gained his law degree at the University of Louvain, and a degree in European law at the University of Brussels.

He is an avid sports enthusiast and practised football, tennis and field hockey at competition level. He also enjoys cycling and mountaineering.
