Biografía

Pedri was born on the Canary Island of Tenerife and started playing footballl at six. He progressed through the Juventud Laguna ranks and CD San Isidro youth academy before being scouted by UD Las Palmas in 2018.

In 2019, he began his professional career with Los Amarillos at only 16 and became the youngest goalscorer in the club's history. During that season, the promising youngster played 36 out of 42 league games, starting in 34 of them. He managed to score four goals and provided five assists.

He quickly drew the attention of top football clubs but opted to join his boyhood favourites FC Barcelona in 2020. His family has always been die-hard 'Culé' supporters, and Pedri grew up idolising the likes of Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi, Xavi, and Andres Iniesta.

"I wasn't born, and I already belonged to Barcelona," the midfielder explained in a documentary released by the Catalan club, explaining that his grandfather founded the first Barca supporters' club in their home town.
