Boxer Mary Kom sealed her status as an icon of Indian sport when she was one of the team’s flagbearers at the Opening Ceremony at... Tokyo 2020.

Kom, who won a bronze in London 2012, missed out on a medal in Tokyo when she was narrowly beaten by Ingrit Valencia of Colombia in the round of 16. The medallists in the boxing women's fly (48-51kg) category were: Stoyka Zhelyazkova Krasteva (BUL), Buse Naz Cakiroglu (TUR), Namiki Tsukimi (JPN) and Huang Hsiao-Wen (TPE).
